Recycling Care Certificate eLearning Licences
On our pricing page, we say: “Licences can be recycled”, so what do we mean by that?
When people leave, we don't charge you twice
We know that many eLearning providers charge for services via “credits” or “units”, or they charge per course.
This essentially means that, each time you create a new member of staff, you use up a credit/unit, or have to buy a number of courses. We’re also aware that, due to staff turnover, when someone leaves your organisation they take the learning (that you have paid for) with them.
Transparent pricing
We believe that charging customers in this way is outright profiteering. In contrast, our company values include openness, transparency and trading in an ethical way.
How re-usable licences work
Since we started in 2006, we have always operated a policy whereby our customers are able to recycle licences and it works like this:
When someone joins your organisation, you create an account for them and they complete the learning they need for their job role.
Staff take their records with them
Since 25th May 2018, one of the impacts of GDPR is that staff are able to take their records with them if/when they move on. You won't need to charge them, because it doesn't cost you anything. It takes away the need for a sour conversation.
This is the foundation of our Care Certificate Portability project. Staff can readily take their training portfolio with them, whilst you as the employer retain the information you need about the individual for CQC Regulation 18.
We often hear horror stories of workers being charged to take their certificates with them, sometimes then not even receiving them! A delegate at a recent course of ours shared how they had been charged £100 for their Care Certificate workbook...
Unlimited training course access for 'the replacement'
However, under our licensing, our customers do not need to purchase a new credit/unit for that person’s replacement. Our customers simply download the evidence they need for CQC Regulation 18, save it and re-use that licence for the next person. It is also one of the key reasons why we include access to all courses in each of our monthly payment plans.
Staff turnover is friction free
We believe this is the ethical way to handle staff turnover. If you have about 30 staff, for instance, then you will only ever need around 30 licences (we always suggest having a couple spare). Your monthly payment will remain the same, month in month out, unless of course you suddenly experience huge growth in staff numbers when more licences will need to be purchased.
Check the small print
In summary, if you're in the process of looking for a new eLearning provider, just check how they would charge for each member of staff....is it per licence with everything included, or is it for each course taken?
