Workers

Workers need to have the Care Certificate in order to be able to get work in the Care Sector, think about the driving licence example.
We are finding more and more individuals are signing up directly, so that they are in control of their own evidence portfolio which they can share with prospective employers and can even seek feedback from the people they support.
Think the "Linked-In" for Social Care
Experienced workers hate repeating training; we have delivered sessions where people in the room have been on the same course every year for 34 years. Now clearly, Moving and Handling is different from what it was 33 years ago, but did they need to go every year in between? Most likely not, but the organisation needs their evidence, their proof if you like for CQC etc.
Imagine if there was a better way...
Workers who are new to care often only last a matter of days. They find after a very short time that care work is actually quite hard, emotionally and sometimes physically too. Some thought they would just be popping in for a cuppa and doing some shopping etc.
This is partly because of the speed at which they are whisked through induction. Organisations are often short-staffed and need people to cover shifts. It's only when the rubber meets the road that workers realise they are overwhelmed.
This is why we prefer person-centred learning; just one more reason why our Know, Understand and Do methodology is so important. Imagine being the only person in the room who doesn’t know something (imagine an induction session with lots of experienced people and one new care worker). Are you going to put your hand up and say “errr I am not sure about…”
Imagine being in control of YOUR learning portfolio instead of your employer. Take control now.
